Blow the candles!

On Monday I decided to bake a cake for my mom since it was her last day here and her birthday i s coming up on October 29th and since I knew I wasn't going to see her I decided to give her our gift and a cake...( really a friend of mine gave me this AWESOME! sour cream pound cake recipe...and I was dying to make it!) either way mom was very surprise...she tried to help me with the cake since she knows this is really not my thing...but I wouldn't let her and she kept getting offended...heheheh! (those of you that know my mom, know exactly what I'm talking about....)

Sunday Football...yes I know we lost...but hey it was fun...

Emily and Christopher in front of the house...

now...what's odd with this picture?? oh yes! I mean the one on the top the bottom one well Alan is wearing René A.'s old bike helmet....but the top one...well yes Danny is in the trampoline w/Christopher and Emily

The guys enjoying some cubans (NOT) but at least good cigars... René burning the burgers...I mean cooking the burgers...hehhehe!
On Sunday René's friends joined us to watch the game and to have some food before they headed back to Miami...and René had a blast asking millions of questions annoying them as much as possible and of course....they had a blast torturing them...I made my "death" dip is what René calls it...everyone loved it! I just think they were hungry....hehehhe!

more of St. Augustine and meanwhile in a far far away land....

somehow coffee was not what they expected...

meanwhile the guys enjoyed a nice day at Epcot's festival of food and wine....

We ended our St. Augustine adventure at a restaurant by the pier called Santa Maria...it was beautiful and delicious...

a couple getting married! awww...
Mom and René A. at the Castillo de San Marcos! You know what I just realized we didn't take that many pictures of Emily and René...Finally! right?

René A. at the Mill Wheel in downtown St. Augustine...

After our little visit to the farmer's market we decided to surprise my mom by taking her to St. Augustine...she's always wanted to visit this little town as she was told it's a lot like D.R. (where she was born...) so needless to say she was thrilled and our first stop was The Fountain of Youth...

The start of a wonderful weekend....

my two babies....

Then Saturday morning...we went to the town center near our house and visited the farmer's market...it was beautiful they started doing this now for the fall every Saturday and all the vendors just place their tents with goodies...as you can see I was really trying to make up my mind on some of these flowers and my mom was asking all the questions...as some of you may know by now...I don't cook and I don't plant anything (but I love flowers I'm just terrified by bugs, lizzards and anything else around them...I do enjoy the outdoor though!)heheheh!

ok....so I can't complain we had a pretty nice, busy and great weekend but still low key...on Friday night René's friends came to Orlando, from Miami to visit for the weekend...we met on Friday night for dessert(mmmm....my favorite "meal"?) considering we had our free and reliable babysitter "my mom" we couldn't miss the opportunity to feel "young and single" hehheeh!

Miami Adventure...

Emily with abuela Violeta (mother in law's mother)

Emily with Mamina (my mother in law)

This weekend the "guys" had their camping adventure at the Zoo with the boys scouts, so Emily and I decided to go for a quick visit to Miami...now what's exciting about this decision is that I HAVE NEVER DRIVEN TO MIAMI BY MYSELF OR WITH ANYONE .... needless to say we made it safe and happy and the GREAT thing about all this is that my mom decided to join in the adventure on the drive back and thank God she did because it made the 3 1/2 hour drive much shorter!

Cowboy Festival?

beware of the princess!

René A. learning how to treat a woman....hehheh! lol...Daddy and Emily in front of the "Spanish Camp" the funny thing is that this is NOT the idea I had of a Cowboy at all....

Emily having a Great time...NOT!
Well...this past weekend we were a bit desperate for something new and exciting...so we adventured off to the Silver Spurs Cowboy Heritage Festival...sounds great right? Well "sounds" was the key word here...it was really bad compared to what they advertised it to be...we were VERY dissappointed however we managed to make the best of it as usual and the funny thing about all this is that we ended up leaving this place to go to Old Town in we didn't take pictures of that, and we had a blast...what can I say...
